Reunion Picnic

Brrrrrrrrr - man was it cold.
And wet.
And we got brutally lost (for the second time that day).
And we wouldn't have missed it.

The kids were each given a bear from the agency - they were a big hit...

The Begeman Girls...

The food was good - the fellowship was better, but as a group we didn't really last long before we were chilled to the bone and decided to head back to the hotel for naps, and to put our backup plan into action.  We had hoped to do a little sightseeing in the area but the weather was just too ugly - so we opted for the hotel pool and ordering in pizza!!

Most of the guys headed back to the rooms with the kids (naps for the kids, and some football for the dads).  The moms scored a prime spot by the lobby fireplace with coffee for some great fellowship and conversation.  I am always so blessed by my time with these women - we are all so different, from different areas, life stages, & new adoption stages, but when we are together we bond on such a deep level.  I am so thankful that God orchestrated such wonderful friendships in our little group.

Pretty soon the men and kiddies started to surface for some pool time -

splash Mr Battle....

After a good swim, we ordered in pizza and took over the hotel lobby. The kids had a blast playing together, us moms continued our chat, and the dads took in some more football on the big screen.  The day may have not gone the way we originally planned but it turned out absolutely - perfect.

Pretty impressed that you managed to get a shot of the Guangdong girls without the little Hubei brother managing to get his mug in the picture. All my posed ones of a group of the gals together remind me of a "Where's Waldo?" except it's Caleb that we're spotting!
And I'm blessed to be part of a random group of women, brought together by the bond of delivering our Lianjiang and Dianbi girls within minutes of each other in a hot room in southern China...
