AWAA Reunion

Last weekend we headed south for the AWAA National Reunion. We were so excited to see some of China Family and attend the wedding of our China guides, Amy & Lineker. Amy traveled with us all through China when we went to bring Grace into our family. Amy was guide, stork, friend, translator & problem solver. We have such a special place in our heart for her. We were thrilled to learn a short time later that she and Lineker had married and were expecting a little one of their own. As part of this years' national reunion, our adoption agency decided to throw them a church wedding with all the trimmings. Thankfully the wedding itself, that was intended to be outside at a park, was moved indoors due to the horrible weather. When we arrived, the church was filled with families, almost all had children adopted from China. Children that Amy & Lineker had helped to bring home. Each child was handed a long stemmed rose to hand to Amy as she walked down the isle.

I didn't realize until I looked at the pictures, that Amy was crying her whole walk down the isle...

After the wedding ceremony was over, there was a time of testimony. The families in attendance were given the opportunity to say a few words about what Amy & Lineker have meant to them.

Afterwards we tried to get all of our girls together for a little photo op while we waited toward the end of the receiving line...

LOVE that last picture of Caroline and Grace! They were so cute together! I noticed a well-worn picture on my frig this afternoon...one of the nannies with the five babies from their room in the orphanage...there were Grace and Caroline right next to each other. Oh, how I love that they are friends! I feel so blessed that they have those roots with each other...all of our girls!

We loved visiting with you again! Every time we spend with your family is even more fun! Love ya!

You summed Amy up so well! I love that shot of her holding Beth, I was at a bad angle to get a shot of that. We had a great time visiting with you guys and hope to see you again soon!
