Sunday Snapshot - (The Fair)

This past week was "Fair Week" in our humble little community.  The fair opens to much fanfare and fireworks and ushers in the last week of summer vacation. (There were a few years there when the schools opened DURING "Fair Week" and, oh boy, what a hubub that caused!)  There are certain traditions at the fair:
Watch fireworks...

stop every few feet to chat with someone you know

visit critters, large & small,

eat really great fair food, & buy fudge to take home for dessert,

Hunt for the headstone with the tractor trailer driving off into the sunset - but this year we found this little beauty...

Check out the quilt, produce, and antique tractor displays and see how they made apple cider in the good 'ol days...

And this year we may have started a new tradition.  Goldfish. Oy.
(which are still stunningly alive 3 days later....)

Thanks for the memories West End Fair - see you next year....

For more Sunday Snapshot fun.....

What fun! Sounds like a great tradition... we don't stay many places long enough to enjoy doing something year after year.
Loved seeing all the pictures of your day!
Happy Sunday, Donna :)

Love the great traditions. Those crazy goldfish are surprisingly hearty...even without proper care.
Blessings,

We are fair lovers too! It's all wonderful, but I'll have to admit to being especially fond of the food!
Our (state) fair is still about six weeks away. We can't wait!
