Wedding Weekend

This weekend we were off to Nephew's wedding about 6 hours south of here. The kids all got to play hooky from school! We pulled out in the morning & arrived in Virgina after 1 food stop, 4 potty stops and 1 switch driver stop, which put us in town around 3:30. We settled into the hotel for a while and then decided to go to the hotel resteraunt for dinner. It didn't actually occur to us to take the hint that the dining room was EMPTY (open, but EMPTY) - so we spent the entire meal as the only ones in the place (let's say we got to know our server really well!).

From there we decided to explore a little and attempt to drive to Nephew's alma mater and look around. We must be the only people alive that can't find a college in a college town. (We found out the next day that we just missed it by a few roads). We ended up at a lovely little park clear on the other side of town where the guys got to burn off steam with a football and the girls got to run around. We headed back at dark since we knew we had an early morning breakfast date with the groom & his family.

The next morning was up & out early to have breakfast at a "pancake place" with Alan's brother's family. The kids were all excited because we don't tend to have these places where we live, so we had a great time - good food & nice visit.
